El Jebel Tower (1760 Sherman)
- Central Business District

Height:
650'

The
El Jebel Tower, officially known as 1760 Sherman,
is proposed to be a mixed-use tower consisting of
residential, office and retail components. Retail
is planned at the base, with 280,000 square feet
of office space and 180 residential unites above
that.
Designed by Denver architect David Owen Tryba, the
650' tower was granted an exemption from Denver's
viewplane ordinance, a city ordinance which limits
the height of buildings on this particular parcel
of land. To gain this exemption, the developers
agreed to restore the historic El Jebel shrine that
adjoins the property. At 650', this building will
become Denver's fourth tallest. |

Hyatt Convention Center Hotel
- Central Business District
|
|
 |
Height:
489'
Stories: 38
Start: 2003 |
The
third and final design in a tumultuous journey to
construct a 1,100-room hotel adjacent to the expanding
Colorado Convention Center, this design by Brennan
Beer Gorman and Klipp Colussy Jenks Dubois (KCJD)
of Denver will stand 38 stories tall and cost the
City of Denver an estimated $325M to construct.
The hotel was originally slated to be developed
by Bruce Berger, who was anticipating a $50M subsidy
from the city. Berger had difficulty securing financing,
and the City of Denver has since taken over the
project.
The hotel will contain ballrooms, meeting space
and other convention amenities to complement the
expanded Colorado Convention Center, just across
the street. |

Executive Tower Inn Remodeling
- Central Business District
|
|
 |
Height:
350'
Stories: 30
Start: NA |
The
Executive Tower Inn, an existing 30-story building
located adjacent to the Denver Center for the Performing
Arts, has been in serious disrepair for quite some
time.
Given the tower's proximity to the soon-to-be-expanded
Colorado Convention Center, and given Denver's notorious
shortage of hotel rooms, the owners of the Executive
Tower Inn are preparing for a major renovation of
the structure that will include new skin and a completely
revamped inside; basically the building will be
stripped to its shell and rebuilt. Through this
renovation, the hope is to have this new hotel cater
to the larger crowds of the larger convention center. |
