Height: 110'
Stories: 3
Start: 2002
End: 2004
In 1999, voters approved a $268 million expansion of the Colorado Convention Center that will double the size of the facility. The expansion, scheduled to open on December 6, 2004, will add: 292,000 sq. ft. of new exhibit space; 35,000 sq. ft. of new meeting space; a new 50,000 sq. ft. ballroom; a new 5,000-fixed seat auditorium; and a new 1,000-space parking garage. This will bring the completed Colorado Convention Center up to a total of 584,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space on one level, 100,000 square feet of meeting space on one level, and two ballrooms of 35,000 square feet and 50,000 square feet.

Denver Art Museum Expansion - Golden Triangle
Height: 110'
Stories: 3
Start: 2002
End: 2004
In 1999, the citizens of the city and county of Denver voted in support of a $62.5 million bond initiative to expand the Denver Art Museum. The 146,000 square foot addition, designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind (among his projects, the Jewish Museum in Berlin and the Felix Nussbaum Haus in Osnabruck, Germany), will bring the entire museum complex to a total of more than 350,000 square feet.

If we attempted to put this design into words, we couldn't. The fact of the matter is that this a Daniel Libeskind design, and Denver hasn't seen anything like this before. This building will usher in a whole new era of architecture for Denver; let's just hope that this era of innovation is here to stay.
